Voltage Optimisation
Built in the UK for Zero Downtime
Cut your building’s electricity costs by up to 18% — typically 7–15% on refrigeration-heavy sites — with a British-built voltage optimiser, installed by our own NICEIC-approved engineers and verified on your own metering data.
What is commercial voltage optimisation?
Your building is paying for voltage it doesn't need.
Voltage optimisation (VO) is a proven way to reduce a building’s electricity consumption by correcting a structural inefficiency in the UK grid. The UK’s declared supply is 230 V, but under the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 it may legally sit anywhere between 216 V and 253 V — and in practice the national average is around 242 V. Modern equipment harmonised to European standards is designed to run best at 220–230 V.
HOW IT WORKS
SavaPower sits between your incoming supply and your distribution board, using a multi-tap transformer to bring site voltage down to the optimal level — with automatic bypass protecting your supply at all times.
SavaPower is a transformer-based voltage optimisation system built around toroidal transformers we design and wind ourselves. During your free survey we log your incoming voltage and load profile, then configure the optimum tap for your site — and because it’s a multi-tap design that can be adjusted without shutting the building down, your optimisation keeps pace as your supply or equipment changes. Voltage-dependent loads draw less power while performing exactly as before: your staff and customers notice nothing, your meter does.

Adjust, service or bypass — without shutting down your building.
Most voltage optimisers have no bypass. To adjust the voltage, service the unit, or take it offline, the entire building has to be powered down. SavaPower’s automatic bypass is fitted as standard — so we can do all three live, with zero downtime and no lost trade. You’re buying peace of mind, not a quick fix that becomes tomorrow’s problem.

Zero Downtime
SavaPower engineers can change your site's voltage tapping WITHOUT SHUTTING DOWN YOUR BUILDING so there no disruption to trading.

Why buy a SavaPOWER
Overload a unit with no bypass and it can trip — plunging your site into a blackout and costing you a day's trade. SavaPower simply bypasses and keeps you running.
FIXED VS DYNAMIC VO
Which type do you actually need?
Fixed (transformer-based) VO is the right answer for the overwhelming majority of UK commercial sites, where the grid runs consistently high. Dynamic (electronic) systems suit the rare site with a genuinely unstable supply — at a significantly higher price and greater complexity.

Buying direct beats buying through a middleman.
Most voltage optimisers are sold through integrators and installers. Here's what changes when you go straight to the manufacturer.
| Feature | SavaPower — Direct Manufacturer | Typical Distributors / Installers |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing & Value | ✓Direct from the Manufacture – better ROI and faster payback. | Markup applied by the middleman. |
| System Control | ✓Re-tap live – adjust, service or bypass with no shutdown for any adjustments or service. | Often fixed, or requires a full building shutdown. |
| Safety | ✓Built-in automatic bypass as standard. | Sometimes sold as an expensive optional extra. |
| Support | ✓Direct line to the engineers who built it and installed your system. | Resellers or Third-party support desks. Third party installers who simply walk away after the install is finished. |
| Manufacturing | ✓Transformers wound in in the UK | Some UK manufactures but alot of re-badged or imported units, unknown origin. |
WHAT DOES IT COST?
A site-specific quote, from real data — before you commit.
Every site is different. A single-site commercial SavaPower installation is priced to the size of your premises and fully installed by our NICEIC-approved teams. With a transformer service life measured in decades, everything after payback is straight saving — and multi-site estate pricing is available for rollouts.
Your free site survey produces a site-specific savings estimate from your actual incoming voltage and half-hourly consumption data — so you see the numbers for your building before you decide

Commercial voltage optimisation, answered.
Voltage optimisation reduces the excess voltage supplied to your building down to the level your equipment actually needs. Because higher voltage means higher consumption, trimming it lowers energy use, cuts your bill and reduces carbon — with no change to how your site operates.
Typical commercial sites save around 8–12% on their building electricity bill, depending on how high their supply voltage sits. We deliberately quote realistic, surveyed figures rather than headline numbers — and our built-in energy monitoring proves your actual saving in real-time, measured to the kWh, so you see the return rather than a promise.
Buying a voltage optimiser through a distributor or installer adds a middleman markup and puts a third-party support desk between you and the product. SavaWatt designs and builds SavaPower in-house in the UK, so you get factory pricing, a better ROI, and a direct line to the engineers who built your unit.
Every SavaPower includes an automatic bypass as standard. If a fault is detected, the unit seamlessly bypasses itself and returns your site to full mains voltage — so your facility never loses power. An automatic low-voltage cut-out provides the same protection during a brownout.
